No Limitz Music
About Us

Welcome!

...to the No Limitz vortex. There are two sides to this beautiful whirling chaos of music we reside in. The first is that we are primarily songwriters. Our goal is to write, co-write and promote our songs to you and to other artists looking for hits!! We've been hailed by our industry peers as great songwriters and we are proud of the collaborations we have made so far, including great songs co-written with Tim Taylor, Jay Semko, Duane Steele, Tenille and Stan Webb to name drop a few :). When we aren't writing or promoting other local talent, we like to perform. Either as an acoustic duo or or plugged in with the entire band. Get to know us all below!

What does No Limitz originals sound like??? Well, its a mixture of emotions with their songwriting skills and blended harmonies that have been compared to the likes of Blue Rodeo, kd lang and Alison Krauss.

ps - what's a vortex you ask... it's any situation viewed as "irresistibly engulfing". Get to know us and decide for yourself... be careful though, you might get swept into the fun!

Dana Blayone
vocals / mandolin

Dana started playing guitar at 14 years of age and played Don Williams, Dolly Parton, or Nitty Gritty Dirt Band songs for all who would listen. Yeah, she knew she was country when country wasn’t cool. In the late 90's, it was Terri Clark, Dixie Chicks and Shania Twain that became a big influence on her as Dana started to hone her own songwriting skills. This passion for music and songwriting inspired Dana to volunteer teaching guitar for a Guitar Camp and at a local school. Dana along with Sherry, are also the masterminds and organizers of the Peace Region Music Industry Conference and Songwriters Workshop. Even though the music industry keeps her busy with singing, songwriting, organizing, and teaching, it also keeps her balanced with her job as a office manager including her favorite jobs being a mother and wife

Rob Lanctot bass / vocalsRob picked up his first guitar when he was 16. Jamming with other players throughout high school (including No Limitz' own Paul) brought additional musical experience. A love for that driving bottom end and influenced by his bass-playing uncle (of local 1960's band fame, The Hidden Sounds) brought Rob to buy his first bass guitar. Playing in several local bands, and a 2-year hiatus from "real life" playing in a Calgary-based full-time band in the 90's have given him the opportunity to play different genres and with many different musicians. Playing with No Limitz, Rob has the opportunity to develop bass parts for orignal songs, and even contribute to writing a few. Between great original music and playing a few cover tunes, and also playing with local classic rock band C. Alice www.CAlice.ca Rob figures he has it all. Away from music Rob has a lovely wife, two beautiful kids and a hobby farm

Paul Marceau rhythm guitar / vocalsPaul's musical tastes vary widely, but generally rest on the fringes of the mainstream. His musical playing style has been described by a former bandmate as Country Punk&Roll. Paul loves playing for people who dance and with musicians who truly love what they do, like those in No Limitz! When not strumming his Tak or Gibson, he spends his time as an English teacher, hockey dad, basketball coach and on the slopes. He also loves cutting lawn and shovelling snow.

Ed Haunholter
drums / vocals

Ed's passion for drumming started at the age of 8 when his bedroom garbage can and a pair of "pea shooters" became his first musical instrument. Listening to classic rock music, he developed an ear for learning to play drums. He joined his first band in high school and was hooked on music from then on. He played in a few rock bands over the next few years including local band "3 Pieces" where he met Rob Lanctot. The band eventually dissolved and after a short time, Rob & Ed got a call from Sherry and Dana of No Limitz. When not drumming, Ed spends time with his wife Lynn and daughter Megan and can also be found at the local Freson IGA in Peace River where he has been a Produce Manager for over 30 years

Brent Clairlead guitar / vocalsBrent picked up a guitar in his late teens and taught himself to play, and he hasn’t put the guitar down since. He has played with different bands in the Peace Country since the 90’s and has had the opportunity to work with a band that opened for great artists like Duane Steele, Rick Tippe, Johner Bros., Beverly Mahood, Chris Cummings, and Aaron Pritchett. His musical inspiration comes from a variety of styles but most notably from artists such as Eric Clapton, Buddy Guy, Jimmy Olander (Diamond Rio), and Merle Haggard. On his quest to finding the perfect tone, Brent has become addicted to guitars and amplifiers, and has turned into a guitar gearhead. He enjoys both collecting and repairing guitars and amps and when not playing, he can be found tinkering. Brent even packs a travel guitar in a suitcase to take on vacation. When he is not playing guitar, Brent enjoys spending time with his wife, riding motorcycles and traveling to sunny destinations.
